Logos
The divine Word — creative intelligence through which all things exist
In the Philokalia, Logos refers to Christ as the divine Word — the creative intelligence through whom all things were made. It is through the Logos that the logoi (inner principles) of all created things exist. The Logos is not just a theological concept but the animating principle of the tradition's understanding of reality: every created thing has meaning because it participates in the Logos, and the contemplative path is the recovery of the capacity to perceive this meaning.
